Winter Time-of-Use Hours in Effect November 1

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is reminding households and small businesses that as of November 1, 2017, the time-of-use (TOU) price periods are changing.

Time Of Use prices will not be changing.

Winter Time-of-Use Hours
On-Peak             Weekdays from 7- 11 a.m. and from 5-7 p.m.
Mid-Peak           Weekdays from 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
Off-Peak            Weekdays from 7 p.m.-7 a.m., plus all day weekends and holidays.

BRANTFORD POWER WARNS CUSTOMERS ABOUT SCAM

A small number of customers have reported receiving a call from someone claiming to represent Brantford Power threatening disconnection of service within a very short time frame if immediate payment is not arranged. These emails are part of a common scam frequently reported across Canada.

If you have questions or concerns about your Brantford Power account, please do not hesitate to contact us at 519-751-3522.

If you have received a suspicious email or phone call, please contact The Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501 to report the incident. For information on how to protect yourself or your business against fraud, please visit the RCMP’s Scams and Fraud website at www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca.

Please know this is NOT consistent with Brantford Power’s standard practice regarding overdue accounts. As mandated by the Ontario Energy Board, Brantford Power must give you at least 10 days’ notice before you are disconnected. Brantford Power must also make a reasonable effort to contact you one last time at least 48 hours before disconnection.

Brantford Power does accept credit card payments for overdue accounts over the phone, but will never ask for banking information, a pre-paid credit card payment or a wire transfer. Overdue amounts would appear on your monthly bill. We make every effort to work with our customers to develop payment options when an account falls into arrears.

Brantford Power will never make arrangements to meet at locations to collect cash from you, except in the case where a Brantford Power technician, who carries photo identification, will accept a cash payment from you at your service location to avoid disconnection or to restore your power. Cash payments are also accepted through our customer service cashier located at 220 Colborne Street. In both cases, a receipt will be issued.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SURVEY BEGINS TODAY

Beginning on August 30, 2017 for a period of about three weeks, Brantford Power may call to invite you to participate in our customer satisfaction survey.

Randomly selected customers will be contacted by phone, and asked to provide answers regarding our services and your impressions of Brantford Power. The questions address the quality of information we provide, the professionalism, attitude and helpfulness of our customer service representatives, timeliness of response and accessibility, as well as a variety of other factors.

Your participation is strictly voluntary, though we encourage you to participate if contacted, so we can continue to improve our delivery of services to the community. If you have any questions about our Customer Satisfaction Survey, please do not hesitate to contact us!

SUMMER TIME-OF-USE PRICING AND HOURS IN EFFECT MAY 1, 2017

A handful of customers have reported receiving an email from someone claiming to represent the Public Utilities Service of Canada, threatening disconnection of service within a very short time frame if immediate payment is not arranged. These emails are part of a scam happening across Canada.

If you have questions or concerns about your Brantford Power account, please do not hesitate to contact us at 519-751-3522.

BRANTFORD POWER RATE CHANGES IN EFFECT JANUARY 1, 2017

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) has approved an adjustment to electricity distribution rates and other charges for all Brantford Power customers, effective January 1, 2017.

8% PROVINCIAL REBATE INTRODUCED BY GOVERNMENT OF ONTARIO

The Government of Ontario has introduced an 8% provincial rebate for electricity consumers for consumption beginning January 1, 2017.

Brantford Power customers will see this rebate reflected on their first bill including January consumption.

All residential and small business consumers will automatically see these savings on their bill, and do not need to contact Brantford Power to enroll. Larger business consumers may also qualify, and are encouraged to visit brantfordpower.com/forms for eligibility criteria, and to download an download an 8% Provincial Rebate Self-Declaration Form
