November 1, 2019 – Ontario Electricity Rebate
Effective November 1, 2019 the Government of Ontario introduced a new electricity rebate called the Ontario Electricity Rebate (OER). This rebate replaces the 8% Provincial Rebate and is intended to make electricity bills more transparent. The OER is a 31.8% on-bill rebate for households; small businesses; and qualifying multi-unit complexes, farms and long-term care homes.
Eligibility requirements for the OER
The eligibility requirements for the OER are different from the eligibility requirements for the former 8% Provincial Rebate. Even if you were previously eligible, you may be required to re-declare eligibility under the new rules by January 31, 2020 to continue receiving a rebate.

The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is reminding households and small businesses that as of November 1, 2019, the time-of-use (TOU) price periods are changing. Time-of-use pricing is also changing.

CUSTOMER SATISFACTION SURVEY BEGINS OCTOBER 22, 2019
Beginning on October 22, 2019, you may receive a call inviting you to participate in Brantford Power’s 2019 Customer Satisfaction Survey. The survey is being conducted on behalf of Brantford Power by a widely recognized global leader in customer satisfaction management.
Randomly selected customers will be contacted by phone for a period of approximately three weeks and asked to provide answers regarding our services and their impressions of Brantford Power. The questions address the quality of information we provide, the professionalism, attitude and helpfulness of our customer care representatives, timeliness of response and accessibility, as well as a variety of other factors.
Your participation is strictly voluntary. However, we encourage you to participate if contacted so that we can continue to improve our delivery of services to the community. If you have any questions about our Customer Satisfaction Survey, please do not hesitate to contact us!

BRANTFORD POWER TO MOVE AHEAD WITH ACQUISITION OF PROPERTY FOR ITS NEW PERMANENT HOME
On April 9, 2019, Brantford Power came before Brantford City Council in order to clarify some of the wording in the legal documentation related to its pending acquisition of a new, permanent location for the organization. Brantford Power has been in the process of identifying a permanent home for the past several years. City Council voted unanimously in favour of Brantford Power moving forward with the purchase an existing facility at 150 Savannah Oaks Drive for its new location.

BRANTFORD POWER WARNS BUSINESS CUSTOMERS ABOUT TELEPHONE SCAM
Brantford Power is warning customers to be aware of a telephone scam targeting businesses in the area. Businesses in Brantford have reported receiving fraudulent telephone calls from an organization falsely claiming to be Brantford Power.
The caller demands immediate account payment within 30 minutes and threatens disconnection of power service. Brantford Power does not demand immediate payment or disconnect customers without prior notice. Customers who receive a suspicious phone call should hang up and not provide payment or share any personal information.

BRANTFORD POWER BILL DECREASE EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2019
Brantford Power is pleased to announce that it has received approval from the Ontario Energy Board (OEB) for changes to its electricity distribution rates and other charges for Brantford Power customers, effective January 1, 2019. For most customers, these changes will result in bill decreases.
You can learn more about the impact of this change on your bill by using the OEB’s Online Bill Calculator, available at ontarioenergyboard.ca.
