Electricity Rates

Electricity rates in Ontario are set by the Ontario Energy Board (OEB). Rates are calculated using a 12-month forecast that helps make pricing more stable, predictable and fair both for users and for generators.

Time-Of-Use Prices

With Time-Of-Use (TOU) pricing, the price of electricity depends on when you use it. There are three different prices for electricity: On-Peak, Mid-Peak and Off-Peak.

Winter Time-of-Use (in effect November 1, 2017)

During the winter months (beginning November 1), prices are highest from 7:00am – 11:00am and 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Time-of-Use pricing is always lowest between 7:00pm and 7:00am, and all days on weekends and holidays.
